UTC Math Scholarships

If any seniors are considering UTC and planning on majoring in math, there are several scholarships available.  The Dorothy Dean Shelton Scholarship covers tuition, room an board, books, and fees; the Marjorie Watson Scholarship is $5,000 over a four year period (not every year); and theBlue Cross Blue Shield Scholasrhip is worth $4,000 per year.

E-Day: Engineering Open House at Auburn

If you're considering a career in engineering, you might want to think about attending E-Day, Auburn University's annual engineering open house. Not only can you experience Auburn's campus, but you can learn about their engineering programs, meet with faculty and staff, visit labs, and find about about possible scholarships.

Register online: eng.auburn.edu/eday.  The date is Feburary 24, and you can out more information by checking the bulletin board in the college counseling office.

Changes Coming to the Common Application

To date, the all-purpose Common Application is accepted by 465 colleges and universities, but that number will most likely continue to grow.  In an effort to make the application more streamlined and user friendly, changes should be in place for the class of 2014.

Sewanee Freezes Tuition

The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine

The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is currently accepting  applications for the 2012 Veterinary Summer Experience Program. The program will take place June 4-July 27, 2013. To apply, a student must:
  • Be a legal resident of the State of Tennessee and be enrolled in a Tennessee high school
  • Be a current high school junior or senior
  • Be at least sixteen years of age by June 4, 2013
  • Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa
  • Be available for full time employment (40 hours per week) between June 4-July 27, 2013
  • Have not previously participated in the Veterinary Summer Experience Program
All applicants must submit an application, an official high school transcript, and three reference letters. Applications must be electronically submitted by 11:59 pm on March 5, 2012. Supplemental materials must be postmarked by March 6, 2012. Further information and application materials may be obtained on the website at www.vet.utk.edu/summerexperience.
